Malaysia and the UK will invest in burgeoning tech and digital economy

 

The UK's Minister for Technology and the Digital Economy, Damian Collins, and Malaysia's Minister of Communications and Multimedia, Tan Sri Annuar Musa, met on Wednesday and agreed to put an emphasis on developing technologies like the digital economy and cyber security.


According to Ma Sivanesan, the deputy secretary-general of the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia, both Ministers met on Wednesday to address the matter (Telecommunications Infrastructure and Digital Economy). ITU Plenary Conference 2022 will place in Bucharest, Romania, from September 26th to October 14th (ITU PP22). The gathering was a part of the conference itself.

Annuar is the head of the Malaysian delegation to the ITU PP2.

During their conversation, they discussed investing in the digital technology industries of both countries, he said to Bernama.

Annuar also stated that Jama Hassan Khalif, the Minister of Communications and Technology for Somalia, and he met with representatives from Malaysia to discuss the possibility of cyber security cooperation. Annuar brought it up during their discussion. He assured the audience that Cyber Security Malaysia (CSM) will provide the necessary education and experience.

During the meeting, Somalia also provided an update on its current economic, just like Gaji PT Mei Cikarang 2022 and development position and extended an invitation to Malaysia to investigate potential investment possibilities, particularly those in the oil and gas industry, he said.

"Meanwhile, Malaysia shared details about the interoperability of its existing infrastructure, including its plans to achieve universal internet access by 2025 and the country's effort to equip its citizens with digital skills via a number of programs run by the Malaysian Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).

"Sivanesan said that even those who don't have access to the internet or modern technology may take part in the digital economy by visiting one of the Keluarga Malaysia Digital Economy Centres (PEDi).

Annuar spoke to four people at ITU PP22, including Jama Hassan once. The other three were Solomon Islands, China, and the United Kingdom.
